Subud Ireland

Subud is an international association of people from all backgrounds, cultures and beliefs. Its name is a combination of three Sanskrit words: Susila (right living), Budhi (a higher power) and Dharma (our connection to a higher power).Its core practice, the latihan kejiwaan (Indonesian for 'spiritual training'), offers members direct contact with the 'Great Life Force'. First received by Muhammad Subuh Sumohadiwidjojo in Java in 1925, this experience is awakened and passed person-to-person.Subud has no doctrine, dogma or membership fees. Established in Indonesia in 1947 to support those practising the latihan, Subud spread globally from 1957. Today, it operates in over 50 countries, and the latihan continues to be passed on in its original form. Subud Ireland / Subud Éireann was established in 1973.
